Rogue businessman Samuel Wathika who is among Eight Kenyans and two foreign nationals arrested on February 3, 2023, for allegedly defrauding two American citizens of USD159,000 (Ksh19, 859, 100) in fake gold has been arraigned in court.
Waithaka appeared before Milimani Senior Principal Magistrate Esther Kimilu where the prosecution requested a further date for the case to proceed to a full hearing.

The magistrate however directed that other accused persons plead to the charges before the court gives its further direction.

Despite Waithaka pleading not guilty to the charges, other suspects are yet to do so because the DCI forwarded the file to the Dpp for review.
The others are Moses Otieno Oketch, Patroba Odhiambo Tobias, Elisha Mbadi Kimbero, Teddy Samora Kowino, Kaisarios Loamms, Mugabe Patrick Biriko, Seth Steve Okute, Bruno Otieno Oliende, and Collins Kiprotich Langat.
